You mean the Jawa language has second-person pronouns with gender differentiation? -
Niko :lyrical_lily: (niko@jir.moe)'s status on Thursday, 22-Jun-2023 00:09:43 JST Niko :lyrical_lily: @Kurohitsuji Not gender differentiation, but registers indicating politeness level. There are three general registers: ngoko (for informal speech), madya (middle), krama (the highest register). There are at least one second-person pronoun for each register. I guess other Austonesian and Asian languages have this kind of style too, including Japanese. My personal problem is, sometimes I neither want to sound too formal nor too casual -
