IRS gets the list of gunowners from the store and runs them through to find social media of purchasers and then begins to look up the financial records of people making Trump/Antifag posts online. If they find anything to charge them with they do it. -

It seems odd that the IRS would take them. Working on limited sleep but I think the IRS was in charge of NFA items prior to the ATF. Since it was a federal tax stamp. -
