   So we just sold the 13 ducklings for about a weeks worth of dog food. I count that as a win since I dont have to butcher or more importantly pull feathers.

     @charliebrownau I make my own dogfood but not cat food (although realistically it would be easier). I used to try and follow a policy of separate greens and meats days, but I get a lot better acceptance of greens when the meat is included. One dog will fast if he is faced with an option to have no meat.
     
     I can't hunt here, but I have access to hunting grounds. I have never hunted before, but a neighbor gave me a deer carcass that I cut up for them and they really liked that. I used to raise rabbits for meat too so I think if I get a chance to go hunting I can work out how to eviscerate a deer.

     @charliebrownau @thatguyoverthere PCP airguns and crossbows are nice but oddly there are more than a few places where they aren't allowed but muzzleloading rifles are.

     @niclas technically true, but I have 3 dogs. Now I don't have to wait until they are grown to feed the lot. Also while true they can eat whole animals, I don't think the old lady would care for it much, and one of them loves with the birds so I like her being gentile with them. She hasn't connected her chicken dinner with her friends and I'm happy to keep it that way. My Akita has almost caught a few of the birds before but thankfully they are pretty slippery.
