     @Leaflord Have you ever done it though? I’ve tasted the rat life, man. I’m in no hurry to go back. Being wet for days, WEEKS on end, freezing, boiling, hiking, constantly having to stay alert because you KNOW a smart predator will wait for you to sleep, but you don’t have anyone trustworthy to keep watch. Forcing yourself to start a fire w/ trash and plugging your nose while telling yourself “the bugs add protein”….

     The romance wears off after a few months. Just enjoy being able to take a bath in peace while you can. Someday you’ll wish you had those memories to draw on. Half your downtime will be spent huddled around the fire talking about the stuff you miss from today

     Everything is speeding up and memes are bleeding into reality quicker than before. At the same time things just keep chugging along like infrastructure isn't constantly collapsing with repairs taking longer if they're even done. It's a weird time because it seems like it should be right around the corner but the corner just keeps going.

     @sapphire @Leaflord I really think it’s going to last longer than you all expect. Our forefathers built up a tremendous world, it will take some time for it to decay. Quality will decline, but look at south africa - those guys have been able to consistently shitpost and they were installing anti-nigger flamethrowers to prevent carjackings almost 30 years ago

     Surprising.

     There’s no mention of the Nashville Bombing of 2020. Essentially in Nashville, Tennessee on 25 December, a man parked an RV next to an AT&T building on one of the streets there and the loudspeakers on the RV were rigged to say that an explosion was imminent. It was.

     This has been generally memory-holed as well.

     We live in a non-Euclidean world where in which we think there’s the corner, we just keep turning right, and right, and right again, and while cyclical it’s not as though we’re going in circles but it’s more like beyond one corner is another corner that’s twice as worse.
