   Alright so... I bought some butter. Bought some olive oil. Bought some vegetable oil. I've been told that cooking everything in butter is not it so I'm supposed to use these oils. But which oil is the main oil? 🧐

     @GalacticTurtle I mostly use butter, unless I’m doing something like a stirfry where it’s hotter and I use vegetable oil.

     I do sometimes use olive oil, but I prefer butter.

     @Flick @GalacticTurtle I use bacon grease more often than not. Butter is my fallback. I will sometimes use olive oil when the flavor is appropriate. I have leaf lard, but I use that for soap.

     Leaf lard specifically comes from the soft, visceral fat from around the pig’s kidneys and loin. As such, it has a very delicate, super spreadable consistency at room temperature. This, along with its clean, un-porky flavor, is why leaf lard is considered the highest grade of lard.

     It has no odors to impart on my soaps and it makes a good lather.
