   @Neigh-Sayer @Darmy67 @greyfox46 @justnormalkorean but yea, i'll do several herbs next year, the garden altogether was something i wanted to do since jan, talked to my grampa about it but he didn't want me to till up a spot, so i bought a raised planter and started putting shit in his flower beds around his yard that have died since he hasn't been able to get out and take care of them since several years now, and he is so impressed that he said "next spring i'll let oyu till one", but i decided i was gonna buy more raised beds and just put them out back next year cuz i really like raised beds rahter than tilling, tho i might till a spot for abuncha sweet corn, so i can sell it and give it away to friends and family.

     @Zealist @Darmy67 @Neigh-Sayer @greyfox46 @justnormalkorean tilling is a last ditch effort that is used far too often. You might also like straw bale gardening. It's like raised beds but you use bales of straw that are partially decomposed and fed a healthy diet of nitrogen.

     @Neigh-Sayer @Darmy67 @greyfox46 @justnormalkorean since i've shown my grandpa this is something i enjoy, i discussed getting a few hens with him, and he thought about it and he said 'next spring, you can turn one of my sheds into a coop and put up a run'
