   It occurs to me that the kids may not know this tactic when they run up against the institutional representatives at work. The HR ladies and her kind will needle you, wheel and deal, pretend to empathize, and cajole in whatever way they can to obtain your compliance, even to the point of lying through their teeth and pretending to be like you.

   Don’t buy it. When you pick a fight worth picking, don’t let them bully you out of your position without meeting your goals, whether that’s getting things in writing, generating a paper trail (for when you’re proven right later) or getting some sweet severance pay to get you set up ‘til your next job (which you hopefully have scoped out already)
