     @coolboymew Yeah, I have some family members who speak it natively, it's why when I learned French in school I realized it's *not* normal to contract/fuse words like that.

     que je → kéj
     sud-est → suête
     fait que → faik
     etc.

     @coolboymew Yeah, until I got older my pronunciation mirrored a lot of French (Québec) and then being told I was speaking French "wrong" was extremely frustrating.

     @coolboymew I am bilingual, just not with French. Even so, it's pretty straightforward, and I can decipher most of it at a glance (including the not needing to stop to think about it). I can't say if it was using very simple language, or if it's because they put the majority of the complicated thoughts in English. I'd think most Europeans can easily read two or more languages in a jumble (assuming they use the same structure, or just replace nouns and verbs).

     @lanodan @coolboymew which ended up being wrong in some cases. I assumed "parmi" means "para mi" ("to me") which also made sense but turns out it means "entre" ("among")
