   @icedquinn @moffintosh gen x's can be some of the most hardcore atheists, they grew up during a time when it was simply Obvious™ that God wasn't real and that a glorious, atheist, liberal Star Trek future was Inevitable. having nothing to turn to after that fantasy evaporated is a pretty bad time.

     @moffintosh i saw gen x people who had six figure salaries just up and walk away from their jobs after being workaholics their entire life and just drank away whatever money they had left over from it.
     
     different gen x who didn't even work in tech also just up and walked from his job one day. no idea why.
     
     in both cases their wives immediately left them too.
     
     its weird with x because they haven't been shit on their entire lives the same way as millennials. i can understand why we do it (we've been told our entire lives we're spoiled, entitled, whatever discrediting statement to gaslight us in to believing asking for the same shit everyone else got in their life is wrong somehow) but it's not just affecting them its happening everywhere.
     
     people are just shutting down

     i think a lot of people have come to the inherent understanding that life is pointless.
