Unpopular opinion but Twitter screencap threads sucked and were low effort on /pol/, and I’ll say what I said there here:
If I wanted Twitter and to see Twitter opinions and stupidity I’d go there. I want to see Fediverse opinions and stupidity.

Of course it is. That’s why the mods let everyone post porn, shitpost, make a metric unholy crapton of “REDPILL ME ON X” despite the board rules telling everyone not to do exactly that, let everyone make “ooh let me pretend to be a far-left person, call everyone a chud in my garbage, no-effort bait and troll le epic Nazi” threads, let people hijack threads with /int/-/bant/ garbage, constantly move relevant threads to /bant/ or /int/, constantly kill threads, and constantly let lucrative threads be overrun or autosage them accordingly.
I hate 4chan’s moderation. Not a single thing goes wrong or off-topic on the non-lucrative or porn boards, no such hijackings occur. But my God, when /pol/ wants to do something the moderation will make absolutely sure to ruin your time. People posting porn on /pol/? Mods sleep. Someone says “nigger” on a blue board or a board that’s red but isn’t /pol/, enjoy your three day ban! Try to report all the garbage? HA, that’s funny; you’ll get a cooldown timer that lasts for an indeterminate amount of time.
You are not allowed to actually discuss politics on /pol/ if you are serious in any way shape or form, because there will be a bad actor to intervene on the behalf of a nefarious influence and will not let up until your morale is broken and you cease actually trying to learn anything whatsoever.
Nefarious actors do act on /pol/, two examples: Any given time Tel Aviv is being shelled, and this is a documented fact? The garbage posting will by and large relent and /pol/ will be a clean board. This has happened several times over the last few years. Second example, there are obvious bad actors in Discords who are recorded and screencapped talking about how their intent is to constantly ruin /pol/ by allowing communities to coordinate with one another and spam the board constantly. When screencaps of active raids were handed to moderators and the bad actors were proven to be the ones starting the threads, mods would give no response or would kick out the people bringing it to their attention.
4chan is completely subverted, and exists only as a worthless timesink of endless garbage posting at the least, and a malicious honeypot at the most where you will draw attention to yourself if you continue to try to open a serious dialogue, and your threads will also be targeted accordingly for the execution by shitposting deluge and porn. Try it.

Nobody cares about contributing to 4chan unless they can somehow gain something off it.
Remember SageGaiGar? NCH Productions made that little flash, it was a GaoGaiGar parody that was 4chan-related. He also did 4chan City, you may not remember that one. Do you think NCH Productions did that to “increase his brand?” No. NCH did it because he loved the spirit of 4chan and put it in flash cartoons.
Community is dead. I learned this especially when posting greentext spooky stories on /x/ and jackwagons just taking them and putting them in their SOOOOPER SPOOKY VIDEOS that they had NO hand in creating, but they’ll sure take the subscribers though.
Shameful. It’s so shameful, because 4chan is the one place that should have been impervious.

moot hoped that 4chan would go back to its roots with a Japanese owner but forgot, with boards like /soc/, /cgl/ and /lgbt/, and actually instilling mods who had a carefree and hands-off approach to moderation except to actually rule in terms of when someone’s actually being disruptive, 4chan couldn’t be.
4chan has been utterly subverted by normal people who are completely uninteresting, have the most stock and safe opinions and don’t care about good thread content unless it appeals to specifically them instead of the community at hand. It also didn’t help that at no point people trying to use 4chan to get viral or famous by forcing and advertising their content down peoples’ throats wasn’t choked out immediately.
The community doesn’t care about 4chan. The moderation doesn’t care about 4chan. moot didn’t care enough about 4chan to actually do some gatekeeping. And that’s just it.
