I can't believe how a 2004-ish game is actually better for real at depicting the feeling of driving at a very high speed than a modern 2020 game.
The tunnel effect, the camera shaking to emphasize the speed of the car, the sounds of the engine when the NO2 is released (overexaggerated but much more satisfying), etc etc.
I think the modern games don't emphasize on that feeling of speed anymore. It wasn't realistic back then, but I think that's what made those games so satisfying. If we wanted a realistic driving experience, we have GT for that.
