   The problem is that on the surface most social movements are pushing for a world with less injustice and people with real lives see that and don't scratch past the surface to see how such ends are to be achieved and whether or not the aim is true.

     @ringo yeah I wasn't arguing that the aims of most social movements are true just that an average person isn't likely to look beyond basic high level claims and find them relatively easy to empathize with.

     @thatguyoverthere Some people have discovered the one big weakness of Western culture: guilt, and the desire to be good. So they created a multitude of social movements, all calling Western culture unjust and bad for various things. This turns everyone against each other and allows them to gain power.
