@union I don't think ukraine is a "neo nazi government" but it's kind of hard to get around that they had an entire neo nazi branch of their military that they just rebranded but they keep catching people with the patches. Ukraine might have a "unique" relationship with the imagery but 1. that hedging has never been accepted for any other group/person and 2. it's still clearly originated from nazis not like, paganism.

NYT: "The decision by some Ukrainian soldiers to wear patches with Nazi icons threatens to reinforce Russian propaganda used to justify the invasion. It also could give the symbols mainstream life after the West's decades-long efforts to eliminate them."
Threatens to reinforce Russian propaganda is what's the problem here. Also, some in "the West" may found out about it. But soldiers wearing these symbols are not a problem!
This comes after a more than a year of the likes of NYT suppressing the imagery and news of Nazis providing the backbone of the most motivated troops in Ukraine.
