     @MeBigbrain @matty It does help though. Being poorly socialized in HS puts you behind the curve, which isn’t the biggest shortcoming but it’s very brutal to the self-absorbed & the stupid. I’m increasingly worried by the guys in Genz who spent it friendless and alone thinking they can just turn it around without being smart about how they do it.

     It’s hard to describe, you just can’t afford to turn things around without putting conscious, actual effort into it. This “just be yourself” thing is poison to a kind of asocial shut-in, they need to look outside themselves and ask “am I being the kind of guy people wanna be around?“. Seeing the teenagers grow up in the cousin fold is……worrying me these days
