   I have a pea pod!

   Also, a bird. I’m not going to say I’ve never seen a bird in the garden before (if only because there was a robin that popped in a few times when it was snowy), but it’s not at all common, so I’m inordinately excited: please come back often, bring your friends and eat bugs! Hopefully it will find the bird feeder: I shook a bit of seed onto the floor nearby to give it a hint.

     @Flick mine are just poking through the soil. I had to buy new seed because my stored stuff was no good. Running a little behind but should be fine

     @Flick I don't think so, but I'm not actually sure. I've not planted them myself. I've planted beans but never been particularly successful. I haven't put a lot of energy into annuals before last year. Most of my time was focused on getting the bushes and trees taken care of. Last year almost nothing I planted for the annuals grew, but I have been pretty happy with my progress so far this year.
