Just before 2022 ends, I'll share with you the five Anime shows I've enjoyed the most this year. In no particular order let's begin.
-
1. Akiba Maid Sensou, 12 episodes.
I've talked about this show that just finished last week. One of the best original shows that aired this year with a unique premise that went beyond a simple gag, characters that we loved and cared about and will remain with us for the rest of our life. Also lots of blood. Give it a chance!

Made in Abyss, 2 seasons and 3 movies and 1 OVA.
I admit I had some prejudice regarding this show, not because of the author but because I thought it was overpraised when it came out. Thankfully I was proven wrong and now come around and say this is a marvelous work of fantasy and despair and it makes great use of the media to portray this bleak yet wonderful world. Also I love Nanachi.

Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, 12 episodes
Good things com in small packages, finally a romantic comedy show that delivers in both of its premises. The chemistry between the characters is as natural as their comedic timing, it leaves you satisfied from beginning to the end.

@hfaust I passed on this one

@hfaust really? While I didn't think it was a complete loss, I really hated it and dropped it a few EPs in

Kono Healer, Mendokusai, 12 episodes
Straight comedies are one of the most difficult works to adapt, The show will live or die if it's not funny simple as that and yet everyone has a different kind of humor making it almost impossible to find the right audience. To me Kono Healer was my right type of humor where it was dry, mean spirited and silly. If that's your thing, I highly recommend this underrated show.
