   Profit from the services or products you provide is not the primary focus of many companies. Attracting investors is. Currently the trend with investors is to focus their attention on companies that support diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and are willing to enact Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) policies. That's why it doesn't really matter if the decisions result in lower profits.

     Right; Focusing on better products, higher yields and higher productivity, may cause more products on the market, making life better for ordinary people. Can't have that! Need to strip mine the sheep of everything.
