@Zerglingman@MischievousuTomatosu Any fluoridated dweeb who is unironically trusting this image should run for their nearest faucet to reboot their improbability drive.
@grips@MischievousuTomatosu@Zerglingman Potatoes get smothered if they get buried much deeper than 10-15 centimeters (roughly 5-6 inches), their foliage wants to grow and collect sunlight and the vertical tower system simply doesn't provide them such an environment. (additionally, if you made gaps to the sides for the potatoes to flower it still wouldn't work well then). Even if you were smart about it and planted potatoes of different sorts that yield at different times it wouldn't work as advertised since they don't have proper airflow and drainage and would either atrophy or suffer from tuber necrosis. If you did your absolute best you would gain just a marginally larger yield per square meter covered at orders of magnitude more work and potato seeds required. Some dude I know tried to make this work at my village and he was laughed at (by myself included) and he wanted to prove us wrong and he failed miserably. Some poasties attempted to do this as well (weaf comes to mind) and he also didn't get much out of it. The irish gardener association which strongly advertised it removed the potato box from their webpage out of shame, and now the sole primary source is a seed shop that doesn't allow discussion on it.
@dieulast@MischievousuTomatosu@grips@Zerglingman I was going to comment on this retarded image but you got to it first. It would take about 30 seconds to look up a video of people testing it out with no good results as well. On that note, you can grow potatoes in anything, even grow bags.
