Yes, every law the government has is backed by the threat of murdering you, including lawn height ordinances.
Act accordingly.

Q: but the cops didn't do shit in Uvalde, would they really kill me?
A: yes
Q: what if I don't shoot them? what if I come out with guns
A: they will kill you
Q: even if I have the gun pointed down?
A: the cops kill people for that when they knock on random doors in the middle of the night. They will absolutely kill you for that when prepared to do so
Q: wtf! what am I supposed to do, get a hostage?
A: morally, no
Q: why did you say "morally" like that?
A: if you have a hostage they won't kill you. They will immediately become extremely reasonable, and will want to have long conversations about how you got to this stage of your life, and they will negotiate a way for you to leave without anyone getting killed
Q: so I should get a hostage?
A: you should not get a hostage. That would be immoral.
Q: ... that's you saying that. *You* are saying that it's immoral. Are the *cops* saying that I should get a hostage? What do the cops think?
A: the cops want you to get a hostage.

@IAMAL_PHARIUS @teknomunk @mangeurdenuage where i used to live they'd cite you for having a barren field with nothing but a few sparse weeds or having too tall of a yard, you can't win, you are forced to go through the annoyance of dealing with lawn care, even tho lawn care is extremely gay, NEVER FORGIVE THE BRITISH FOR INVENTING THE CONCEPT OF A MANICURED LAWN
