All of my mulberry trees are volunteers. No reason to ever plant a mulberry tree around here, but they require no maintenance outside of trimming and harvesting which I'm doing at the same time this year.
The cool thing is these were dropped by birds on an old fence so they are in a straight line and act as a separator between two parts of my yard and provide shade for the plants in my garden that need it. -

The rest of my trees are either old growth canopy or more spindly branches because the mulberry seems to grow twice as fast. I imagine that's because of the taproot which you dont get from potted clones -
Sir Pantangelini (pantangelini@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Tuesday, 30-May-2023 11:09:25 JST Sir Pantangelini @thatguyoverthere we've got the red ones like weeds around our pa home.
Brought several volunteers to our wv property to spread our free berry experience out there.
With enough variety we are collecting fruit and berries for at least 6 months of the year

I should get a bit of fruit from it in a few weeks, but it usually runs a little behind the others, I think because it is a little bit overshadowed by them. It's toward the back of the row and on it's other sides are maples that completely shield it from the later afternoon sun -

A lot of my stuff is just getting to be about 5 years old. The oldest stuff I have planted is about 7 years old at thus point. -

Were getting there.
Need to start establishing a few more berry plant varieties to fill in the middle of summer.Looking forward to our hazelnuts producing and getting some pecans going. Right now our treasure is the 2 gorgeous American chestnuts in WV.

I planted a pecan 2 years ago. I have no space for any more trees atm but I have a free standing dead maple to bring down and a few small volunteers that will open us up again.
