   Learning that the media has been lying for centuries was kind of a black pill for me.

     I listened to like a 4 hour podcast about the science community and honestly sounds like most of that info is fake corporate sponsored news too 😅 lmao it’s so bad

     Of course scientific publishing is really nothing more than a way to extract massive amounts of money from governments (people). Government pays to have a study done, then buys the journal for the data from the study. Absolute boondoggle.

     @threalist @thatguyoverthere Even the leaders of a totalitarian state cannot get at the truth. In the 1970s the Soviets used their spy satellites to measure the Ukrainian grain harvest. They wanted to know if the Ukes were lying about the amount produced, or if people were stealing it along the way. (Answer: both, of course.)
