     @merchantHelios Can confirm.

     I was not able to buy a house in my 20s. As much as I hate having to keep paying a mortgage I would not want to be paying rent right now.

     When I saw my property manager keep raising my rent each time the lease came up for renewal I saw the writing on the wall. The only thing that saved me was being able to avoid having to make a down payment thanks to a VA loan. I was not anywhere near having enough money. Had I not been a veteran and been able to take advantage of that, I would still be renting, paying at least twice what I currently pay on my mortgage in rent, and nowhere near towards saving enough money to make that down payment for a loan.
