@ringo@c00p@realcaseyrollins I don't know Dora the explorer so I can't speak to it, but I do know that there have been jokes in movies that are more geared toward adults. Some of those jokes only land if you have pre-knowledge of the punch line though which is why they can work without corrupting a kid. I think subtle side humor is there so parents enjoy the movie more, but it's usually something that is completely overlooked by the kids because of it's subtly. I think Disney is corrupt for sure, but I think some of their movies and shows are fine.
I don't even know if I believe much of the idea that subliminal messaging exists or works. I don't think it's necessary to use secret messaging embedded in seemingly innocent content when people have no problem just feeding their kids obvious garbage.
@c00p@ringo@realcaseyrollins I don't mean to say that no one ever tries to insert a subliminal message. I simply mean I doubt their efficacy and I think sometimes people see them where they don't exist.
