   On some level I'm beginning to suspect it's fruitless to criticize people for using their favorite ideology/religion/fandom as nothing other than a justification for hating the outgroup and finding more outgroups to hate -- that might actually be the point, and there's no sense in complaining about a tool serving its purpose
