   Why are self called "meat eaters" triggered by my sustainable life style?

   It's not like I destroy the planet they are living on or harm any living being with my life style or have any negative impact on anything, except of destructive world views.

   And instead of having a constructive discussion, they insult me and others, who are living like me.

     @utopify_org because you people make it impossible to plan any large event where food is served, like a free lunch at work. our diets are completely incompatible, especially considering how many non-meat dishes are cooked with butter, milk, and eggs, and how the only good way to fry things is in tallow.
     
     not to mention the non-food animal products that y'all want to replace with shitty plastics. leather? shitty plastic. wool? shitty plastic. down? shitty plastic.

     @utopify_org actually veganism isn’t sustainable at all, you rely on the global trade network to provide you with out of season fruits and vegetables (usually grown in third world countries on deforested land) for most of the year, plus most food for vegetarians/vegans that isn’t homemade from scratch is heavily processed in hydrogenated oils, which are made with a very environmentally unfriendly process
     
     Just because your food doesn’t fart doesn’t mean a lot of environmental damage isn’t caused by their production

     @skylar Impossible? I think any catering service has healthy food and you really must choose unhealthy/not vegan food actively to avoid that it is planed based.

     I understand what you mean, because at every event at work they order unhealthy stuff which is most likely sticky, because of cheese or with butter dough and if this isn't enough, it's full of sugar. But it's not impossible, because of vegans, it's because someone wants to force their unhealthy live style to others.

     Veganism is a cult pushed on young impressionable people, usually women who are the majority of vegans.
     
     Fun fact: 90% of vegans give up on this madness within 1 year, with the most commonly given reason being health concerns.

     1. I don't drink coffee, because for coffee beans a lot of rain forest gets destroyed and a lot of animals lose their habitat or get killed.

     2. I prefer spelt and oat as my "milk", because those are grown locally (in my country).

     3. Around 77% of all soy on this planet is used to create food for livestock and not for vegans or humans at all.

     If you seriously care about those 50,000 voles you are referring to, you should reduce your meat consumption.

     @utopify_org @book pigs can eat a lot of different food. Their dietary needs aren't much different from ours. They are omnivores. If you plan on using them on a farm you can grow things they eat and move them around so they don't end up completely wrecking a spot. They don't have to be fed on concrete in miserable conditions that's just how industry does it.

     @book I don't know were you get the numbers from, but let's go back to the food of the animals you eat.

     What do you think what pigs eat?

     You can't pull a line at the 1 life of the pig. You need a lot of resources to feed the pig until you get meat out of it, which costs a lot more lives.

     @utopify_org all I do is organic farming. I tilled a long time ago and realized very quickly that all it did was wake up latent weed seeds in the soil. Later I learned about how much is lost when you till.
     
     It isn't a "conservative" vs "liberal" farmer problem. Nearly all large farms are doing the same things and it doesn't matter what their politics are. Making it about politics shows you don't understand the actual issues.
     
     Also I don't use pesticides or herbicides. I would say that the damage done by pesticides is likely worse when on tilled soil because that soil doesn't hold moisture and erodes much easier than healthy soil.

     There is a difference between organic farming and being vegan understand. Plenty of meat is grown organically. All the birds in my yard are cage free (one is in jail for eating eggs but I'll be letting her out in a week) and eat a fully organic diet. I don't have enough space to grow all of their food so I do buy feed, but it's organic and sourced regionally (the company works with farms across 5 states). I also make my own compost and plant primarily heirloom varieties of seed.
