The real solution is to get decent hardware that’s stable and works well without having to agree to a single proprietary software license.
Not trying to bash normies here even - people feel overwhelmed at the prospect of such a task. This is why it is so common to hear the suggestion hand-waived away in posts “gah, nobody has time for that!”. Like with anything worth doing, it just takes some relearning and some broadening of one’s perspective.
I am reminded of Charliebrownau, who often posted about the mistrust of Intel management engine. But when confronted with the fact that AMD does something similar which is even less studied and understood than ME: dead silence from him… because he had already invested himself in compromised AMD hardware.
