     @jmw150 @pleasesaybye Pretty sure more than 1% of these in the US are done by negros, but otherwise these hate crimes, because that’s what a false one really is, are done by the usual suspects, in part because the demand for them vastly exceeds the supply.

     I wonder what they’ll do when that’s no longer the case? OK, the Jews could make aliyah but it’s their revealed preference to not live in Israel … and I can’t disagree with that!

     (OK, in my personal experience Israeli Jews aren’t hardly as obnoxious or evil as diaspora ones, but they still are Jews, and their country falls a bit short of being a paradise. Very recently, note how their Left will destroy it before giving up their power, that’s been going on before the official founding, the cold civil war in the US is something of a mirror of Israel’s.)

     Not sure about the “entitled bums” bit, though, a lot of them are hard working. And don’t just take my word, see the semiconductor fab lines in the country, including one of Intel’s that’s completely their state of the art. In general a sea change in attitudes from the shtetl types we’re more familiar with was required to make a nation, all the way down to farming becoming a positive thing again.

     And see military virtues which have lots of background in the “Old Testament” and their rebellions against the Roman Empire, and as I’m now reading in Early Medieval Jewish Policy in Western Europe by Bernard S. Bachrach. Am now in the Charlemagne chapter (ruling ~768 to 814, grandson of Charles “The Hammer” Martel who ended Muslim invasion of that end of Europe (well, until the 21st Century or so…)).

     These new Germanic rulers depended in part on Jewish communities with significant military capabilities.

     Interestingly, the Jews of this period were also proselytizers. So besides the obvious concerns of things like Jews having direct power over Christians, particularly slaves, there was the added issue of their converting slaves to Judaism, plus a mixed marriage required one party to convert, and if that was to Judaism….

     Just at the part going over how after Muslims wiped out the Syrian traders in the Eastern Mediterranean, Jewish ones based in Western Europe filled that vacuum.

     All very interesting history with lots of moving parts. Like a Pope not being in a possession to seriously denounce overly friendly to Jews Goths I think it was because they were a check on the Lombards who had conquered a lot of Italy.
