   The idea that ZOG is just going to be able to flip a switch and we're all going to just start using electric cars is a joke, it's not going to happen, such a transition would take 20-30 years if not longer and they both don't have the time or patience, and no one has the money required to afford electric cars.

     @teknomunk @one_of_three The only reason electric cars aren't considered failed tech like the Metaverse or VR are is because these idiots have pumped billions into the marketing of these things. I was talking to a car salesman the other day and he said that virtually no one at his dealership, or at any of the dealerships in his immediate vicinity recommend electric cars to people or really think they'll be ready for mass adoption.

     But not all of them are stupid. Yes, most are and those are certainly high on their own supply, but I think the small number that are intelligent are using the mass of stupid to get what they want (eliminate independent mobility).
     
     What I'm not sure of is how many have a brain, how effective they actually are and how long they have left to live before the idiots seize complete control and run off the cliff.

     @Shadowman311 I've come to the conclusion, given the absurdity of an all-electric vehicle world, that the game is not to save the environment at all but it's simply a stepping-stone to the complete elimination of personal transportation. Fumble along for a decade or so until all the ICE vehicles are recycled or in museums, then simply let the battery problem end them. Only the very wealthy will have more than a bicycle.

     @one_of_three I disagree, I genuinely think these people got high on their own supply and think that everyone owning a Tesla is not only feasible but necessary to save "muh environment". I think they just genuinely haven't thought about the fact that anyone who isn't in the upper echelons of society cannot afford an electric car and they refuse to since thinking that means admitting that their utopian vision is flawed.

     @Shadowman311 @teknomunk @one_of_three I've talked to people who claim that cars should be banned because if they are, politicians will be "forced" to make public transport work.
     
     This is how they think, it's naive, and completely magical thinking about everything. Solutions will manifest because people have no alternatives once those evil cars are removed. In reality, life just gets more miserable.
     
     However, even if this worked, I'd be against it. Not having personal transport means not having freedom. Don't forget they required vaccine passports to use public transport here.
