do people hate on Christianity because they think we won't hit back?
just remember there was such a thing as a military saint.

Do it.

- If not the creator of everything, then who/what did? It'd know that eve was weak willed enough to be manipulated by a serpent (which it also created), and just let his puppets fulfil their roles until it could come back and punish them. Every crackhead would have only had access to crack due to god's plan, and it'd know whether or not they would kick the habit and what they would do to keep getting their fixes etc. I'm just playing out the hypothetical of the xian god existing, I don't believe in it personally and I don't blame fiction. If I'm wrong about it existing, I still wouldn't worship it due to all the fucked up shit it is directly responsible for though.
- Man has created all kinds of things to better themselves, their environments and lessen suffering. Obviously not exclusively, we've created all kinds of fucked up shit too. We also punish parents who treat their children as god apparently treated his creations.
- I guess your god wanted me to have it, or I wouldn't have it lol. Predeterminism's a bitch, and god's overrated to the extent of calling it "perfect". I personally believe in free will, although it's questionable even in terms of science. Newtonian law being that everything is merely a reaction, if true that would mean that existence is already set with no possible variation. I just don't trust it enough to leap of faith, and predeterminism's very awkward ethically, lol. If you're right it could easily be god's plan for us to have this conversation, merely believing we have free will without actually having a choice.
- I mean.. Have you seen churches? They're all authoritarian by default, they've calmed down quite considerably since the reformation but they all assert they have divine authority onto the lesser peasants. This one kinda threw me, it's self evident to me that organized religion is authoritarian. As for human nature being evil, and who is to blame for human nature. The one that made humans the way we naturally are would be?
- It's just mockery with no existing target, I see no reason to show more respect than I would to any other fictional character. Like gandalf, motherfucker not just using the giant eagles to take the ring. What a total dick. https://youtu.be/2JSVVJbBiC4
- I have yet to see a reason to. I was agnostic until ~13, then I was exposed to roman catholic indoctrination for 5 years. That made me go 180', I read a lot of philosophical and occult shit and read their bible a few times. Picking it apart as the mess of contradictions that it is. Then I studied philosophy more formally at college, which unfortunately removed interesting shit like Nietzsche and replaced it with fags like aquinas. At this point I doubt there's going to be some kind of paradigm shift to make me believe and/or praise the biblical villain.

Im about to drop fnaf gay porn, you guys earned it.
That's what I'd say if i was able to create a bot to do it because there's no way in hell I'm doing it manually over an extended period of time

-well God's not the one who built a house without any toilets. how is He responsible for the grown adult who made the decision to be a crackhead on their own whim? did God say, "you shall be a crackhead, that's what i command you to be!" i don't think so. just cuz He knew the outcome doesn't mean that we should do it. you're putting a stick in your own wheel and blaming God.
-man hasn't created a better system, man is literally incapable of seeing past himself to do so. he can't figure out how to be a better parent to his own flesh and blood, let alone run a universe.
-that's a stinky perspective. well, that's how we are, we're inherently creatures of free will that seek to become children of God once more, consciously or unconsciously. otherwise we wouldn't be discussing this.
-show me how it's authoritarian and not because of whoever is preaching at the institution. lol, hating the human? it's about hating the sin and helping the sinner turn away from it. it sounds like it's a conscious human decision problem and not so much God's problem.🤔
-the way you're saying His name is like you're trying to fling a turd up at Him only for it to fall back down and land on your face then proceeding to get angrier because the turd YOU threw ended up on YOUR own face.
-i implore you to reconsider.
-
-God's not the abusive parent though and we're not the immature child. we are SEEKING to be the children of God once more. the abusive parent is a human being that laid the bag of coke on the bed in the first place. to intentionally set the bag down on the bed isn't God setting it down. it's the *human* parent lost in their vice to set it down before the child. the *human* parent is the one who decided to test their child, knowing full well that the parent should be seeking help so that their child doesn't fall under the same absence that the parent has.
-that's you trying to be omnipotent though.
-that's calvinism and not at all what Christianity is about. nobody is beyond saving. we're not pawns, we're inherently creatures with free will seeking to become children of God.
-there's reason within Faith, you just have to seek it. to go back to the old adage, "hate the sin, not the sinner." the Church is not a tyrant.
-He is the I AM WHO I AM.
-
- Adam and Eve had no knowledge of right/wrong prior to eating the fruit. And yeah, god would be worse than an abusive parent in that story as it'd be directly responsible for literally everything and then scapegoat all responsibility onto those it created. More like punishing sims for pissing themselves when you lock them in a room without a toilet. Punishing extreme innocence with extreme eternal malice. The bag of crack cocaine, fruit of the garden, was positioned by the entity that created everything and knew the outcome before it did so.
- If a mere mortal can come up with a better system, then what's the point in an all knowing/powerful god? All discomforts, suffering and evil is directly from the personal creator of everything.
- Not familiar with protestantism specifically, let alone the sub sects of it. But it'd apply to all forms of xianity that believes god is at least both omnipotent and omniscient, as that would deny the possibility of free will. Everything is merely reacting to the actions/inactions of the divine plan. Puppets eternally dancing on a sadist's strings. You keep saying we, but I am genuinely repulsed by abusive sadistic cunts that pretend to love me and demand me to worship them. That's instinctive for me.
- The only reason within faith is mental gymnastics, as you are only looking for things to reinforce what you wish to believe rather than looking at things to see what is. Churches are authoritarian by default, they are responsible for a great deal of human suffering and evil throughout the past and present (and inevitably future too). Sin is merely human nature, so it is hating the human for not being inhuman enough to be accepted. That's fucked up imo lol.
- That's contested a lot, way more than I previously thought tbh, there's no agreed upon translation (even on the backwards one). I remember it being ~"creator" back during my studies, others claimed it just meant "god" etc. If nothing else, at least it doesn't translate into "submission" though lmao.
-
- That'd depend if you blame the abusive parent or the immature child for eating the bag of crack cocaine that was left on its bed. I'd blame the parent personally, especially if they knew exactly what the kid would do it before they intentionally set the bag down there.
- Nothing, it doesn't exist. Catholic school for a skeptic is a pain in the ass though I guess? True, but all powerful would allow for things like everyone finding the same temperature perfect or restricting the temperature to only those that enjoy that temperature etc.
- All actions and inactions are choices when you know the exact outcome of everything. A deity would have access to that, but by having an absolute and perfect plan (with the knowledge of all outcomes of their choices) there is no room for individual free will. We would all be pawns, punished/rewarded for inevitability not from merit.
- I prefer reason personally, but I understand that people resort to things like ancient illiterate jewish mythology when the chips are down. I don't resent them for that, believe whatever the fuck you want as long as it harms no one that is unconsenting. Churches don't get a pass, as with other authoritarian tyrants though.
- Just gave it a quick search. Looks like it has a number of different definitions, "my lord"/"I am that I am". Interestingly, it's read right to left so it'd actually be HWHY not YHWH/yahweh.
"H = ה = hey = behold/reveal/breath
W = י = yod = arm/hand/work/deed/worship
H = ה = hey = behold/reveal/breath
Y = ו = vav = nail/secure/add/and"
So Imma just go with 'Reveal Hand Breath Nail' as its name's true meaning lol
-
>-do you know what Yahweh means?
Oops, think you added this one so I'll just reply here.
Some shit about creator IIRC? True name of abrahamic mythology's god.
-
- who made the decision to listen to the serpent and take from the tree? who made the decision to be jealous of man? who made the decision to tempt adam & eve?
-what did God do to you to make you feel this way? what may be a perfect temperature to you may not be the perfect temperature to me.
-God has the ability to choose what He wants to do, what He wants to create. if there was no need for free will, everything would be dust and we would only be ideas within His conscience. He gave us some semblance of free will because we were made in His image.
-Faith is often all we have when everything is lost. it has to be tempered and strengthened when all else fails. it is not pointless, but it is important to be respected.
-Yahweh means "To Be". it is a name of love, peace, and unity.
-
-it's subjective, but true all the same. Faith is personal to one's own being.
-what are you defining free will as?
-evil is the absence of good. it'd be much akin to praying that God gets rid of all cold because it's too cold; this would cause so many issues and problems in existence.
the world that God created was very good and it wasn't until the absence within man was created that it caused the world to be in turmoil.
-do you know what Yahweh means?
-
godfag shit? lol ok.
it's not an ideology, there's nothing theoretical about it. Faith in Christ is a way of life. it's easier to blame God than it is to accept responsibility for the tribulations in your own life.
evil is not something you can hold but it is an absence. that's the whole thing with free will, it allows you to choose to be or reject being good. so nothing is ever truly good or evil , at least in this existence. situations arise and stimuli causes what used to be full to be absent or what is absent to be full.
-
Aight, we can go a little lol
- It is theoretical. It relies on faith/emotion, and has countless fractions and divisions on everything else.
- God, as described in the bible, does not allow for free will to exist. It falls under predeterminism whilst the definition tautologically refutes itself.
Also; If the biblical stories are correct, then free will would have been granted by the serpent not god. Adam and Eve, and Lilith, would not have known morality or even what "wrong" was until after two of them had caused original sin. That was granted by the fruit/serpent saying 'fuck it lol, have a snack'. Free will can only exist if yahweh wasn't all everything/perfect by definition, otherwise it's part of the plan and falls into predeterminism again.
- Evil's definition is relative, as is good, morality is very nuanced even within followers of the same ideology.
-
Can't speak for everyone but I laugh at idiots saying dumb shit, doesn't matter what the dumb shit is. Could be troon rhetoric, could be godfag shit, could be mathematical illiteracy. It amuses me to poke retards.
People being critical of a ideology having the response of "military saints" isn't exactly a solid defence tbh. It's basically saying that you can't handle questions, and will have to resort to violence to avoid that. It's showing weakness, not strength.
