     @aral Oh I understand, and it also makes me think that places like mastodon, small web, and other things can't win with capitalism giving such a huge advantage to the rich.

     @ainmosni That’s a long game. My goal is to try and create something that, by existing, will provide an alternative in full knowledge that uptake will necessarily be slow (but hopefully steady). It’s a long game for sure. At least if you’re doing it right.

     @aral Fair answer, although for me winning would be liberating society from its for-profit silos when it comes to societal functions.

     @aral Yeah and that's a great goal, I'm just afraid that the current influence of the hate/outrage enhancing algorithms in society's main discourse, will wreck society in a way that it won't matter anymore soon enough.

     But that's the fatalist in me talking...
