   I don't deserve accolades for inventing sensitive image spoilering because it was not a hard call and if i didn't do it someone else would have eventually. but it is arguably the single most important content moderation tool on the Fediverse and it was made by a straight white male on one of the most blocked servers of all time.
   
   When Mastodon came along it chose to implement it in an incompatible way for technical reasons (Gargron's reason was not wrong at all, I just chose to do it in the most flexible and cross-platform way possible rather than the best from a protocol design standpoint) but it retained my exact terminology.
   
   I still want that credit though. I did it first. here's the code:
