     @RyokoPilled @circuSphere Don't hate women because of this stuff. Hate what modern society expects them to be. They aren't "men who have vaginas and boobs", and what we're seeing all across our culture is a failed attempt at exactly that. While some women can step into men's roles, it is the exception not the rule, and it's generally a temporary thing done out of necessity. I've seen female paramedics that are built like Dutch housewives and could legit carry a 200 lb man, but people are getting fatter and those types are also exceptions not norms.

     I know a female firefighter who is exactly like you describe. Our county has "bariatric ambulances" which are modified to carry extraordinarily fat people, and when they need help, they call the fire department, and she has no issues with those calls.
     
     The thing that makes a female firefighter good is when they *know their limits.* They learn ropes and pulley systems to overcome the strength issue, and when that isn't efficient, they *get a man to help.* They don't refuse to acknowledge reality and pretend to be superwoman.
     
     She fits in places none of the men do for rescue operations, and she has an intuitive understanding of certain things that is helpful. For example, if there's a house fire, she will instinctively know where the children are going to hide, so she can get them.
     
     Women aren't useless, and I'm glad to have them working as first responders. But we need to stop telling them they're just as good as men at everything. When they know their strengths and weaknesses, they're legitimately an asset.

     @chud @BowsacNoodle @RyokoPilled @circuSphere How old is she? Late Gen X, if I had to guess. I usually get along great with these types, they’re a perfect blend of useful and self-aware, a product of coming of age in an environment that tested them before letting them hang with the boys.

     To date, I haven’t met a woman cut from that kind of cloth from the millennials or younger. The institutions just slackened too much, the girls don’t have to really earn their keep with the same buy-in they used to. Most of the ones I work with treat the job like a part of their personal brand, actually doing it is merely an irritation. But the older gals can kill it.
