     Whatever happened to Date A Live? Last season I saw was the one with the twins, and the baka-tsuki stopped doing the LNs so I lost track of it.

     @CrushBead @birdulon it's still going on. Twins was S2 IIRC, we got S4 recently with a studio change. The art change shows, but it's not absolutely massive like HS DxD, it looks similarish enough
     
     S5 is announced
     
     BTW, there's the VN on Steam, Rio-Incarnation, which also includes the last 2 VNs we didn't get, which, IIRC, are canon in some ways and the author is involved?

     S4 had some sort of yokai demons and I dropped that quickly because I was immensely pissed at the new art. Haven't seen a new artstyle fuck something so hard since Terraformars

     Last season of DxD is the one with the tiddie dragon song, right? If so the art was less of an issue than the massive tonal shift that made it feel like a completely different series.

     @CrushBead @birdulon There was a recent /a/ thread about this. Some anon theorized that DxD hits it's limit and to continue on, it had to be done on a lower budget, hence the studio change (and art) and it got destroyed in the process
     
     Meanwhile, something like Strike the Blood was made cheaply to begin with

     @CrushBead @birdulon yeah. Surprisingly enough, as far as I'm aware, it's basically the only legit OVA series in the last 10 years, and it actually got all animated. The release schedule was a pain so I stalled on S2 but I plan to continue eventually
