It's hard to reconcile the difference in awareness size between the useful idiots and the anons. The npc can't imagine disliking anyone unless they've been personally wronged by them face to face. When a new grift story comes out on the news it takes up a big chunk of their mind. But not for anons, who've already seen the same scam a dozen times before.

The npc can't understand where the bad vibes come from because they can't see the past dozen similar scams like you can. They believe all your reaction accumulated from them is entirely based on whatever the current thing is.
