do you notice the only people whining about it are the failed artists who whine about everything daily

@PhenomX6 I firmly believe that AI art will never get to the point of replacing actually talented artists. If people are using AI instead of commissioning you, the AI is either simply providing a better product than you are, or yours just isn't worth paying the extra price. Instead of bitching about AI on twitter, focus on improving your own art so that it is both superior to AI generated art and is worth paying more money for.

@DarkKnightDaisy You can go out and buy a functional table that was manufactured automatically, but it doesn't stop people from buying hand made tables, does it? Mass produced Ikea tables vs a hand made wood work masterpiece. Same principle with the illustration outputs. Some artisans have a style one person prefers over another, so there is no finite "pie" to the market, yet there's outcry over taking of jobs and replacement... makes you think.
All that happened was art was "industrialized"... and still, with very limited use cases. As of now standalone illustration outputs are just that: standalone. There are inconsistencies between them and they have a samey-samey-ness that makes the market saturated to the point of irritancy and boredom. No specialty lies within the work either, such as if it was made to be animated, or if it was drawn with conscious detail and color choices, so they end up being shovel data.
The people angry at industrialized table production were the ones trying to sell 4 twigs propping up some cardboard. Now suddenly everyone has access to an at-home table factory, and they want to call themselves the table makers they've always dreamed of being.

@Cayhr @DarkKnightDaisy @PhenomX6 The table analogy isn't the best though, you have to consider the fact that for a handmade table, you might need materials that cost something and industrializing whatever you asked a carpenter to do for you isn't necessarily going to sell in mass.
But AI art doesn't have that limitation.
All that's missing for AI art in this table analogy is really the skill. But as you can see, AI has become so popular that people are constantly working on it now.

@Immahnoob Yeah, a lot of factors were taken out but the point is that despite all kinds of industrialization people still seek authentic artisan goods. Maybe you've got a better analogy than me but hopefully the idea came across :akko_weary:

@Cayhr @DarkKnightDaisy @PhenomX6 I'm saying that you can have your "authentic artisan goods" with AI. It's not there yet, but it's entirely possible and would not mean any type of infrastructure has to be changed.
It doesn't happen in reality because nobody wants to build a factory setup for your "authentic artisan goods", but AI is just a few keywords away instead.
