people try to tell me the that the industry is in the best state it's ever been, probably because technology has advanced and profits are booming. To be fair to them, I haven't seen anyone comment about the state of 2023, but to me the industry has been on a constant downslide at least since 2010, maybe even since before then. Redfall may be exceptional in how buggy it is right now, but in terms of looks and performance it's one of the worst, competing with games released literally more than 10 years ago.
@TopBep :hana_disgust: western entertainment definitely went to shit around late 2000's. there was a change from stylized fun-first/fun-at-face-value vibrant colors to soulless gritty 2deep4u aesthetics and themes that you can see in all products, while simultaneously being 10 times more shallow. some corporate desaturation bullshit and you see it everywhere when you're looking for it

The handcrafted human models looked so much better then the ugly as fuck 3D scanned human models that just scream uncanny valley. Capcom being the worst offender of this.
