Once I went to Amsterdam for a conference. I was wearing a suit and tie loosened up because the conference had adjourned for the day. I went to a cafe out in town, a dozen other guys from the conference who looked just like me in loosened up suits with ties were waiting in line. The barista spoke to everyone in Dutch, the customers all ordered in Dutch. When it was my turn to order, before I even opened my mouth the barista immediately asked me for my order in English. I still have no clue what tipped her off about my appearance that told her loud and clear, "I'm not from here, speak English," even though I looked exactly like everyone else in the room. Maybe the other guys were all regulars and she knew them? I don't know. But people can just tell with enough experience. And that is how it goes with black people on social media. If you write a long enough sentence, they don't need a photo to know who is who. This is a generality, there are exceptions, but this will hold true for the vast majority of the interactions online.
