     idk how you guys, but in school we had two separate mandatory courses for homeland history and world history

     In BC, Canada, not sure about other provinces, there is "Social Studies" (domestic history) and "[World] History".
     
     I think the USA was similar with "Civics" for domestic history some years ago, though they seem to be changing conventions.

     What I don't get is chemistry being so hard. What's going on in the UK?
