     If you're not a high expert, you pretty much gotta not install or check your plug-ins a lot to see if they become not updated because even a fucking image carousel can be exploited

     @xianc78 @Moon if you're a programmer, probably. Just build your own shit at this point because there's a literal army of bots checking for Wordpress stuff. It's not even manual hacking most of the time, it's bots searching for known vulnerability. I installed AIDE32 to check the folders and would see WORDMAN.php dropped in image folder, which opened a shell on the server
     
     And if you don't know jack, then you're just asking to be exploited
     
     Such a fucking terrible state of affair
     
     This is why I complain about easy web makers not existing anymore, because you don't need fucking wordpress for mostly static websites

     Literally just use any word processor. I'm not even kidding. I used to see small business sites using Microsoft Word all the time (you can tell by the generator meta tag). Contrary to popular believe, simple sites don't turn people off. Ugly and unreadable sites do. The only thing you truly need is a container div or table that separates the content from the background, and you instantly have a professional looking website right there.

     @xianc78 @Moon Word is too limiting compared to a proper program for it where you could also go in the code, the problem is that there's no middle currently. It's either fuck you take our CMS or code it like a professional or do it on Word/Libre Office with basically no fucking actual web support

     @Moon What they don’t realize is that Ghost is a legacy Node.js app, a giant spaghetti mess without types, relying on libraries that haven’t been updated in 8 years. After hacking on that codebase a little I lost confidence.

     @Moon If you know how to use git, the best way to make a blog is to use a Next.js or Gatsby starter template and host it on GitLab/GitHub Pages. Free, infinitely scalable, and 0 security concerns.
