     @mrsaturday @coolboymew @Moon See, I thought ep5 was a sharp decline from ep 4, and ep 6 was a minor decline from ep 5. So eps 1-3 aren't surprises, just continuing the trend.

     @lnxw37b2 @mrsaturday @Moon funny thing, I actually saw them in order. As a kid, when they aired on TV, I told myself "I'll wait for the beginning", well, it turns out I waited for a long time
     
     Saw 1-3 in the cinemas
     
     Later caught 4-6 on TV. 4-5 were amazing. 6 annoyed me, I really hated the Ewoks

     How is that a hot take? Before the prequels everyone said that the 3rd(ep6) was the worst. The hot debate was about whether New Hope or Empire was better. Hell I was a kid when Return came out and I still didn't like it as much as Empire.

     @coolboymew @Moon Yeah, it was the writing more than the acting, and the Jar Jar character had so much that could have been explored but wasn't. For example, he could have been an agent for the Siths
     
     So I don't hold to the theory "that kid killed Star Wars". Most child actors aren't especially good, but in light of the material, I think he did okay. (I know someone else in the thread probably disagrees, but that's okay.)
