   So, Bluesky’s CEO Jay Graber is saying that they’re going to “label” political hate groups, supposedly to make it easy for users to hide them.

   What this means first and foremost: hate groups, fascists and their friends are welcome to set up camp on Bluesky, and they *won’t* get banned.
   But hey, that’s ok if they’re getting labeled, right? 🙃

   Bluesky is just another hate speech platform in the making (if that’s not already the case). Let’s not feed the hype.

     @amberage @nileane How is it shady? it's been announced for a long time, has produced publicly available work and is only starting to move to a beta.. Te level of bad faith towards bluesky on the Fediverse is really interesting, there's a lot of "not invented here" going on. The Fediverse is great. Why couldn't the AT protocol also be great, if not better? What's the point: we have ActivityPub and that's it, that's where we stop? Weird.

     @nileane I'm guessing they're just gonna sort far-left groups into that along far-right groups and only give you the choice between a liberally sanitised timeline without your anarchist friends or one full of nazis?

     I keep getting angry every time tons of high-profile Twitter users jump ship and choose some shady new hype app when the Fediverse is right there.

     Also BlueSky could’ve easily used ActivityPub but they chose not to. Dorsey even said that the ideal version of Twitter would’ve been if it functioned like the Fediverse. I find his actions just so ridiculous.
