     @WashedOutGundamPilot I think this is bullshit. I just use FLACs because it's maximum quality and you can determine if a CD was mastered correctly. If you run the file through SPEK and see a shelf, you've got a lossy master.

     They will all melt away, but the bits in FLAC are hard, like diamond.

Unless the bytes are properly encoded, the prolonged spinning of your HD causes a few of them to spin off into the audioaether every year. On a long enough timeframe everything that isn't FLAC sounds like 90's bitcrushed video game speech.
