   Maybe it will be after the third attempt that people begin to realize that kowtowing to proprietary standards always ends up with proprietary cattle pens coming out on top.

     all jokes aside, it's really sad how many games are choosing to just straight up block linux instead of letting people run stuff through wine or proton, i'm sure big game companies don't care about losing the very small number of linux users who can't play their games though
     
     i was really hoping the steam deck would end up becoming a big hit, which would show developers that it's worth letting people run games on linux, but it seems like the steam deck hasn't really taken off, it's probably doomed to just be a niche product that's only really popular among a small community of people
