The pressure cooker/powder keg is a feature, not a bug.
If you rebel, they finally get to kill you outright and pretend they had a justification for it.
If you don't rebel, they get to watch you suffer as your people are castrated and die.
They think of it as a win-win because either way we perish. That's why we have to win.
