@grips I think the information is too pervasive now. The only way to really not know at all is to consume it like a product and masturbate to Daiwa Scarlet hentai. I wouldn't expect people to be as interested as me where I'm following the ranches and farms with the still living horses or doing research but just from a cursory glance you wouldn't miss it and then be confused. For instance, this is what you see when you google 'gold ship'
I wouldn't expect most people to know things like Gold Ship and Daiwa Scarlet's granddaughter are having a child and this is after the granddaughter(Scarlet Tail) gave birth to Vodka's granddaughter as she had the child with Vodka's son. These people show absolutely 0 interest in trying to find out or give the benefit of the doubt though. The reason why there are idols performances is because the horses are idols in japan, they have their own plushies, plus at horseracing events bands play and there are ceremonies but a particular not of inspiration is Kitasan Black's owner is a famous singer and he performed multiple times including during Kita's retirement ceremony
There's a lot of inside stuff that completely goes over our heads because we're not familiar with japanese horseracing but these are the retards that aren't even tacitly familiar with japanese culture and cannot even recognize tropes, basically sub 100 IQ niggers with no pattern recognition

@grips I'm really annoyed because there's a chance umamusume is going to have an overseas release and the usual suspects are jumping on it, have absolutely no respect for it, and they will make sure to pervert it. All the time I see people go "umm, excuse me WHY do they sing and dance like idols?" because they know nothing about the inspiration behind it
To these people it is nothing more than hollow entertainment to be run into the ground and forgotten. Every day there's some fool blown away that Gold Ship is a real living horse and the events depicted in the anime are just what happened irl including the characterization and dialogue because it's not just the horses but the owners and jockeys
They don't deserve to have nice things if they treat everything as disposable and have no real discernment for anything good. They cannot truly appreciate inspired works of art or passionate works because everything to them is sedative media to forget about life and consequences for awhile. It's why they celebrate mediocrity and quite often ignore anything with effort or care put into it

@sharutiaburaddofouren >I'm really annoyed because there's a chance umamusume is going to have an overseas release
Do you mean the game being localized? I thought that was the case for years now.
I get what you mean about the surface-level redditors' take on this, although before I've ever seen your posts, I had no clue that the horses are based on real girls either. It probably becomes evident when you start actually looking into the series, but I don't know how explicit it is in the anime. A friend of mine had seen the first episode when it aired and his reaction was literally the "umm, excuse me WHY do they sing and dance like idols?", he thought it was dumb and dropped it there, not even mentioning that the horses are real. Granted, this was after that centaur slice of life came out and idol animes were in full swing, so he likely thought it's just a desperate attempt at a gimmick.

I want to kill every reddit faggot that says their gay little idioms like "peak fiction"
