What's the case for adultery being legal? If you're single you can fuck around, but if you're pledging your eternal love before God and society and there's no legal repercussions for betraying even that how are you supposed to have any social trust whatsoever?
-
@ignika98 A man who's been caught cheating is still gonna get divorce-fucked. It's the women who face no legal consequences.
-
So men with bad wives can catch a break without getting raped by divorce.

In all seriousness though, it's some libertarian nonsense about how the government shouldn't interfere in people's "private lives" or infringe on "human rights" somehow by punishing such behavior. :akko_weary:

@Giganova8 @ArdainianRight I think people should be punished for being too lazy to initiate a divorce before fucking someone else :chad0:
-
@Giganova8 Marriage is a public institution because it's the vessel by which the next generation is created and reared, which is something that affects everyone. When we're all in the same boat, a leak on the port side is absolutely the business of those on the starboard side.
-
Yah, legally a woman can run over you in court with no consequences.
edit: in some instances (states), now even living with a woman grants her alimony in some sense.

@ArdainianRight
Repeal no-fault divorce, make adultery the factor for child support. If she cheated on you, she pays and you get custody by default. If this was reality, the single mothers would dwindle by the 100s of thousands. Yeah there are adulterous men, but it's usually the rich chads that don't give a shit. You're average working man is generally good and interested in fidelity and the nuclear family.

@ArdainianRight
Oh I agree, that's just what I've heard peddled as a reason for removing adultery penalties. :awoo_disgust2:
-
@ignika98 Criminal and civil courts have very different standards of evidence. In theory at least it'd be much harder to prove criminal adultery than it currently is to throw around accusations in divorce court.
-
Also adultery being illegal opens up a whole other can of worms for women to fuck their husbands with. Roastie wants to divorce her husband cause he doesn't make enough money? Just accuse him of cheating and the female biased courts won't even need proof. Just throw him in jail and let him rot!
