As with everything else today, people think they can charge on brand name alone. That’s not to say that a lot of quality products aren’t being made by certain brands because they are, but I definitely believe companies take advantage. I can buy some Chinese piece of garbage guitar, throw in my own parts and still have something that sounds amazing or right up my alley for what I need the axe to do, versus spending a thousand or so per guitar like I USED to do.

Imagine paying full price for a current year gibson when you can buy 70's-80's ones that are better quality for roughly the same price. I wish there was a cheap version of rickenbackers though. And I wish there was an affordable version of the ovation breadwinner (yes I know about the eastwood breadwinner but it doesn't have the cool flared headstock) Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this. -

[owl.] (owl@seal.cafe)'s status on Sunday, 23-Apr-2023 06:20:14 JST [owl.] They say that amp heads are so damned costly because of how they’re made and their components, so they’re “rare.”
I don’t buy that bullshit.

Kash Kustomer (kashkustomer@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Sunday, 23-Apr-2023 06:20:15 JST Kash Kustomer @Owl I decided against the Recto because they're a tech's nightmare and not as well-built inside as people think. That plus pawn shop...nah.
For 200 bucks more I could snag a DSL 100 new. But the 40w combos at 500ish all day long on GC used are where it's at, they sound identical through a 4x12.
Which I have, and/or the Thiele as an extension speaker for a small rig that's got punch AND can fill a room.
The mini 20w head lacks the mode switches for the channels, and the cleans are sacrificed. Combo has all features the head does.
And this is the *real* one I always wanted. Turns out they're pretty reliable and repairable, too.
