Don't pay for pest control. DIY works perfect for ants and doesn't put strange mystery chemicals into your home.

@GabeLakmann Yeah you got it. Diatoms are small algae phytoplankton and they have really cool designs. So cool that people will make art with them. But the interesting thing is their small sizes cause them to be caltrops for bugs. They get on them and in between their joints and cause death by a thousand cuts via dehydration.

What is that powder make of ground up crustaceans that you can put down which cuts their exoskeletons when they crawl across is?
I want to say it starts with a "D" and I bet some of you smart folks out there will know what I'm talking about.
Diatamacous Earth maybe? I know the spelling is likely wrong.

I thought I was right but wasn't 100% for sure about it and I figured you'd know exactly what I was talking about.
I didn't even know about the designs until I looked it up a few years ago after using some for an ant problem. Nature is really cool most of the time.

@GabeLakmann It really do be like that. There's a lot to learn by copying nature. Chickens give themselves dust baths to get rid of mites and oil, for example.
