Huihuo Qi had memorized most of the sacred texts, and considered himself a junzi (君子) while calling others who were not as adept in the verses as him petty men (小人). One night, the other scholars saw Huihuo Qi alone in his room, pouring over scrolls of lurid art depicting Liangpi’s sex magic. He was writing prose and poetry placing himself in the images with the many girls depicted. Horrified, the scholars ran to the Master to share what they had seen. The Master replied, “Huihuo Qi is even worse than the petty man (小人). He is, may Heaven forgive me for saying this, a coomer (手淫者).”
