there's no way clay tile roofs only last 50 years as the internet claims
maybe you need to do minor repairs every so often but the tiles themselves? they should last centuries
-
@NotImportant @skylar I feel like proper thunderstorms were a lot more common when I was a kid but my mom says I'm crazy
-
Here it became fewer but louder storms.
-
@deprecated_ii @skylar I feel like it hailed a lot more back when I was a kid. We have photos of when I was a kid of an insane hailstorm. I don't think I've seen one in over a decade now.
-
@deprecated_ii even laminated glass gets fucked up big time by hail
i'd still choose steel roofing, and not only because i enjoy rain noises
-
@skylar I feel like hail is a bigger problem outside the northeast
I can only remember having "big" hail once and it wasn't really big. like small marble size
-
@skylar they should be vitrified and reasonably thick. maybe one breaks every so often but it would take quite a hit
the weight is probably the biggest problem
-
@deprecated_ii i think they would get destroyed within a decade by hail
clay tile no likey hard impacts
